Mnquma Local Municipality once again hosted its 2ndAnnual Mnquma Jazz, Arts and Culture Festival on the 28th November 2015 at Gcuwa Dam where the community of Mnquma and people around Eastern Cape gathered to celebrate the event. The Jazz, Arts and Culture Festival is an event centred on the preservation of cultural heritage, promotion and exposure of local talent in our area.

The objective of this event is to develop the Mnquma area as a vibrant prime tourist destination, attract and increase the number of people visiting Mnquma. Furthermore it aims at bringing together the community and provides the setting for positive influence and promotes a moral society that benefits all.

The event started on 27 November 2015 with build-up activities that include a Memorial Lecture in honor of Reverend Tiyo Soga wherein the guest speaker was His Excellence Mr Charles Nqakula. The Memorial Lecture was followed by a 10km Fun-Run promoting sport tourism and healthy living style. Through this event the municipality has managed to develop tourism in Mnquma as local business people hosted visitors who came to witness these events and also the job created opportunities in build-up events for the local people.
