The majestic Bawa Falls, with an estimated drop of 103 metres, form part of the natural wonders that have been declared natural heritage sites in Mnquma. Legend holds that there used to be an execution stone at the falls where those suspected of witchcraft were killed.
Legend also portrays a story about a white boy who integrated into the Xhosa community and who later became a fluent speaker of the Xhosa Language. When they later returned to look for their child, they found him living among the community in a safe environment.
